Child Protection
The Board of Management of BEST recognises that child protection and welfare considerations permeate all aspects of our work and must be reflected in all of its policies, practices and activities.  Accordingly, in accordance with the requirements of Children First: National Guidance for the Welfare and Protection of Children (2017), the Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post Primary Schools (2017), School Completion Programme Child Protection Procedures and Tusla’s Child Safeguarding: A Guide for Policy Procedure and Practice, the Management of BEST has agreed the Child Safeguarding Statement.

Data Protection

All those who provide BEST with their Personal Data have a right to respect and privacy in relation to their data. In addition, the statutory obligations under the Data Protection Acts 1988 & 2003 together with the General Data Protection Regulation that came into force on 25th May 2018 (the GDPR) must be strictly adhered to.
